The Agate Druzy heart is 29 x 27 mm with a fine .925 Sterling Silver bail. An 18 inch bright and shiny, fine .925 Sterling Silver box chain with a spring ring clasp is included.

The word Druzy refers to the blanket of tiny, sparkling, Quartz crystals found inside Quartz and Agate Geodes that resemble tiny sugar or salt crystals. The formation of the tiny crystals occurs after molten rock begins to quickly cool, trapping gasses within as it solidifies. The pressure of the trapped gasses then cause cavities and crevices to form within the cooling rock. Then over the course of a few hundred or even a few thousand years, groundwater carrying dissolved Silica flows through these cavities and crevices, depositing layer after layer of minerals which crystallize on top of each other. The resulting encrustation is called druzy (drusy, druse, druses).
