Agate - is a cryptocrystalline, variegated type of Chalcedony and is the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign of Gemini. Agate is the official state gemstone of Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana and South Dakota, with Blue Agate being the official state gemstone of Nebraska. Agate is also an alternate fourteenth anniversary gemstone. Chakra application depends upon the stone's color. Agate provides for balancing of the yin-yang energy and for balancing of the physical, emotional, and intellectual bodies with the etheric energies. It stabilizes the aura, providing a cleansing effect which acts to smooth dysfunctional energies and to both transform and eliminate negativity. Agate can be used to stimulate the analytical capabilities and precision. It has been used to strengthen sight, to diminish thirst, and to promote marital fidelity.

Amazonite - is a member of the Feldspar family and is a fifth (throat) chakra gemstone. Amazonite provides for pacification and eliminates aggravation. It soothes the emotions, nerves, worries and fears. It is particularly rejuvenating to the heart and throat chakras, enhancing ones communications concerning love. It helps to both manifest and retain the pure energy of universal love. It provides a balancing and preventive energy, making it a wonderful stone to wear or carry.

Amber - is fossilized tree resin and is second (sacral/navel) chakra gemstone. Amber allows the body to heal itself by absorbing and transmuting negative energy into positive energy. It emits a sunny and bright soothing energy which helps to calm nerves and to enliven the disposition. It stimulates the intellect and opens the crown chakra. It aligns the ethereal energies to the physical, mental, and emotional bodies, providing for an even flow of perfect order to the requirements of the Earth plane while balancing the electro - magnetics of the physical body. Amethyst - is the purple/lavender variety of Quartz. Amethyst is the birthstone for the month of February and the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign of Pisces, as well as the official state gemstone of South Carolina. Amethyst is also a sixth anniversary gemstone and the alternate gemstone for the ninth anniversary. Historically, the wearing of Amethyst was once reserved to only the rich and powerful monarchs and rulers throughout the world, but since the discovery of Amethyst deposits worldwide, it is now more widely available and consequently has become one of the most popular gemstones in the world. Amethyst it is a seventh (crown) chakra gemstone that is also known as the "stone of spirituality and contentment". It bestows strength, stability and peace, the peace being the perfect peace which was present prior to birth. It has been used to encourage and support sobriety. It is an excellent stone for those attempting to find freedom from addictive personalities (either oneself or another). It controls temperament by imparting a soothing, calming, and tranquilizing influence, while clearing away unproductive and unkind vibrations. It as also said to help business affairs to prosper.

Ametrine - is a variety of Quartz, being a mixture of Amethyst and Citrine and is a third (solar plexus), sixth (brow/third-eye) and seventh (crown) chakra gemstone. Quartz is the official state mineral of Arkansas. Ametrine provides for balancing of the male/female qualities, stimulates the intellect and helps one to reach higher states more quickly during meditation, leading to peace, tranquility and cooperation. It disperses negativity from the aura and fills the voids with energizing and stabilizing qualities of pure light energy. It enhances all aspects of compatibility, allowing one to recognize that each "other" is both likened and bonded to oneself. It is also known to help one accept changes to the body (e.g., during periods of growth from childhood through physical maturations and when one is provided with artificial organs, implants, etc.).

Andalusite - (pronounced Ann-dah-lou-sight) is a polymorph of two minerals; Kyanite and Sillimanite, usually displaying an X or cross pattern (fairy crosses) and is a fourth (heart), fifth (throat) and sixth (brow/third-eye) chakra gemstone. It encourages one to look at issues rationally by helping one to see the various sides to a problem or situation and to help one realize the self - sacrifice is okay, but never required. It is known to stimulate memory and recollection and promotes the chivalrous aspects of ones character and encourages moderation in all things.

Apatite - the wearing/carrying of Apatite is known to suppress hunger. Chakra application depends upon the stone's color. It is a stone of the future and will bring knowledge to those attuned to it by clearing mental confusion. It truly awakens the finer, inner self. It relates to and to the development of humanitarian pursuits - it is attuned to healing, storing information, communicating, balancing energy and teaching. It can also help to eliminate over-activity, under-activity, blockage, or congestion from any of the chakras. It can also be used to stimulate the development of clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience.

Aqua Aura Quartz - are natural Quartz crystals that have been enhanced with pure Gold. Quartz crystals are placed in a solution in a special machine, then an electrical current is applied and the molecules of pure Gold permanently adhere/fuse to the natural electric charge surrounding the crystal. Aquamarine is a nineteenth anniversary gemstone, as well as the alternate eighteenth anniversary gemstone. Aquamarine is a fifth (throat) chakra gemstone that is also known as the "stone of courage". It enhances ones ability for rapid intellectual response and the innate ability to always be prepared. It provides for alignment of the chakras and balancing of the network of structures connecting the physical and ethereal bodies. Aventurine (green) - (pronounced Ah-ven-ture-een) is a mixture of minerals, usually Quartz or Feldspar, spangled with bright particles of Mica or Hematite and is a fourth (heart) chakra gemstone. It is used to activate and clear the heart chakra. It balances the male/female energies, enhancing ones creativity and amplifies ones leadership qualities. It is known to promote tranquility, a positive attitude toward life and to bring one into alignment with their center.

Banded Jasper - is an opaque and striped variety of Chalcedony. Known as the "supreme nurturer", it acts as a reminder that one is not here on this physical plane just for oneself, but here to bring joy and substance to others. Often worn by shaman to provide protection, Jasper holds an aspect of solar energy and a connection to the solar plexus chakra which also helped shaman in their magical practices. It protects against negativity and helps one to be grounded to the stabilizing energies of the Earth. It can be used to align the energy of the chakras and it also balances the yin-yang energy, as well as the physical, emotional, and intellectual bodies with the etheric energies. It stabilizes the aura, providing for a cleansing effect to smooth dysfunctional energies and to eliminate negativity. A sustaining stone, Jasper can be quite helpful in times of extended hospitalization and when ones energy is low. Jasper can be used to treat the loss of sense of smell and it has been reported to soothe the nerves.

Black Onyx - is a black variety of Chalcedony. Black Onyx, as well as all colors of Onyx, are the alternate birthstone for the month of February, the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign of Leo and is a seventh anniversary gemstone. Black Onyx is a first (base/root) chakra gemstone, but as for the other colors of Onyx, chakra application depends upon the stone's color. Onyx has been used to banish grief, to enhance self control, to stimulate the power of wise decision making, and to encourage happiness and good fortune. It helps one to absorb, from the universe, those energies which are needed. It further helps one to follow the path alone, promoting the recognition of personal strengths and assisting one in the understanding of the reality of the moment. It helps one to become the master of ones own future. It can also be used to deflect or absorb the negativity of others.

Black Star Diopside - is used to stimulate the intellect and provide assistance in mathematical and analytical pursuits and is a first (base/root) chakra gemstone. It enhances academic learning and couples the practical side of ones nature to both the sciences and arts. It allows one to understand the duality within the self, and further stimulates retrieval of the feminine side of nature, being a good stone for healing those who will not allow themselves to cry. It has also been used to calm pets.

Black Tourmaline - and all colors of Tourmaline are the traditional birthstone for the month of October, with Opal being the modern birthstone. Tourmaline is also the official national gemstone of the United States and the official state gemstone of Maine, as well as being an eighth anniversary gemstone. Black Tourmaline, also known as Schorl, is a first (base/root) chakra gemstone that can be used to both repel and protect against negativity. It acts to protect one from being victimized by the negative energy of another. It has also been used as an energy deflector, being an excellent stone for those with potential for exposure to excessive amounts of radiation. It provides for an increase in ones physical vitality, emotional stability, and intellectual acuity and can maintain ones "spirits" even in conditions which appear to emit the messages of "gloom and doom". It is a protective stone against "spells" which are cast by the negative side of another. It is also used to activate grounding between the first chakra and the center of the Earth, providing for further enhancement of ones well-being on the physical plane, and protecting against those in the spirit world and/or those on the physical plane who are not in the "light" and do not understand the love of the universe.

Black Zebra Marble - is a brecciated and metamorphosed Limestone in the form of a coarse to medium-grained rock of re-crystallized Dolomite or Calcite found only in the mountains of Pakistan. Black Zebra Marble, as well as all the colors of Marble, are used to provide for both clarity and suspension in states of meditation, including tantric activities. It promotes peak states of meditation and total recall of dreams. It also helps to actuate the "unused" portions of the mind, providing for the strength of self-control, the mastery of thought and the power of serenity. Black Zebra Marble produces a nurturing instinct and can enhance good common sense in matter of the home, the heart and ones sustenance. Bloodstone - is green Jasper (a form of Chalcedony) with red inclusions of either Iron Oxide or Red Jasper that are supposed to resemble spots of blood, hence the name. Bloodstone is also known as Heliotrope and is the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign on Aries, a first (base/root) chakra gemstone and the alternate fourteenth anniversary gemstone. This mineral is an intense healing stone and is known as the "stone of courage". It can be used to awaken and to introduce uniformity within the vibrations of energy in the base, sacral/navel and heart chakras. It also provides one with the centering and grounding energy of the heart, and is conducive to balancing the total body in order to help one to overcome any distress and anxiety which is associated with the re-alignment of the energies. It grants one the mastery of renewal - for renewal of the physical, mental and emotional. It also provides for the revitalization of love, relationships, and friendships.

Blue Chalcedony - (pronounced Cal-said-oh-knee) is a member of the Quartz family. It was named for the ancient Greek city of Chalcedon and is a fifth (throat) chakra gemstone. It was used as a sacred stone by the Native American Indians, promoting stability within the ceremonial activities of the tribes. It is useful for balancing the energy of the body, mind, emotions and spirit. It is a stone to encourage "brotherhood" among all. It symbolizes benevolence and good will, the benevolence stemming from the nurturing energy within the stone. It alleviates hostilities, irritability, and melancholy. It also enhances generosity, responsiveness and receptivity.

Blue Lace Agate - is a Microcrystalline, variegated member of the Chalcedony family, displaying pale blue and white lacey patterns and is a fifth (throat) chakra gemstone. Agate is the official state gemstone of Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana and South Dakota, with Blue Agate being the official state gemstone of Nebraska. Agate is also an alternate fourteenth anniversary gemstone. Blue Lace Agate helps one to reach extremely high spiritual spaces and has a highly inspirational influence when used for inner attunement. It activates the throat, heart, third - eye and crown chakras, helping one to enter into high-frequency states of awareness. Blue Topaz - is known as the "stone of true love and success in all endeavors" and is the birthstone for the month of November, as well as the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign of Sagittarius. Topaz is also the official state gemstone of both Texas and Utah. Natural Blue Topaz is a fourth anniversary gemstone and a fifth (throat) chakra gemstone that promotes individuality and creativity and confidence in ones decisions. It also acts to replace negativity with love and joy. Also known as the "crystal of potency", it helps one to absorb that which is needed from the universe, prompting receptivity and willingness to act. Calcite - is a sedimentary mineral formed by chemical precipitation through the evaporation of solutions rich in Calcium Bicarbonate. Chakra application depends upon the stone's color. Calcite is colorless or white, but can become green, pink, peach, golden, orange, yellow, red, blue, grey, or black when other compounds blend with it during formation. Calcite releases electrical impluses when placed under pressure and is an energy amplifier. It is said to help the mind and body to remember - the mind, to remember information brought to bear during astral travel and channeling experiences; the body, to remember the state of perfection during disease in order to return to the natural state of flawlessness. It brings forth a polarizing prismatic energy, which engenders a spectrum of energy to clear and to activate all of the chakras. Placing Calcite, of the appropriate chakra color, upon the chakra, has not only cleared and activated that chakra, but has provided a "sweeping" action which cleared the remaining centers. It is an excellent stone when studying the arts and sciences.

Carnelian - is a member of the Chalcedony family, as well as the alternate birthstone for the month of July and the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign of Virgo. Carnelian is also a seventeenth anniversary gemstone and a second (sacral/navel) chakra gemstone. It stimulates analytical capabilities and awakens ones inherent talents. It protects against envy, fear and rage, and helps to banish sorrow. The message of Carnelian is that since one IS love, there is nothing to do but to offer the love - each offering of love bringing an exponential increase in the quantity of love returned. It can assist one in drama and in pursuits related to theatrical presentations.

Charoite - (pronounced Char-oh-ite) is a rare mineral found only in the Sakha Republic, Siberia, Russia - near the Charo River, hence it's name. It is a sixth (brow/third-eye) and seventh (crown) chakra gemstone. Usually translucent lavender to purple in color, it is referred to as a chatoyant gemstone, which means it has a pearly, swirling and shimmering luster. Charoite is a stone for this age. It provides for synthesis between the heart and crown chakras and combines the higher spiritual dimensions with unconditional love from the physical plane. It allows one to recognize, to integrate, and to understand those attributes exhibited on the physical plane which are thought to emit a negative vibration; hence, facilitating the acceptance of others, regardless of the development and/or actualization level in which they appear. This mineral provides for transmutation of negativity and for grounding to the spiritual self. Chrysocolla - (pronounced Kris-oh-cola) is a blue - green member of the Quartz family, also known as Gem Silica, it is found near Copper deposits and is often confused with Turquoise. It is a fourth (heart), fifth (throat) and sixth (brow/third-eye) chakra gemstone. It revitalizes and calms the base, navel and solar plexus chakras. It helps to ease emotional heartache and gives renewed strength and balance, and increases ones capacity to love. It can produce great inner strength, helping one to sustain during trying times. It promotes harmony, decreases negative emotions, furthers ones understanding of others and helps one to recognize there is more to life than that which is evidenced in materiality. It imparts an energy conducive to stabilizing the home and re-building relationships.

Chrysoprase - (pronounced Kris-oh-praise), is a form of Chalcedony, that is apple green in color. Chrysoprase is the alternate birhtstone for the month of May and is a fourth (heart) chakra gemstone. Used for balancing of the yin-yang energy and alignment of the chakras with the ethereal plane. It activates, opens and energizes the heart chakra, bringing the necessary energy to the physical body, through the loving energy of the heart. It instills a state of grace within the user/wearer, facilitates deeper meditative states and compassion. It provides a non-judgmental attitude, an acceptance of others and of self. It can also help to heal a broken heart. It has been used to encourage fidelity in business and personal affairs.

Cinnabar - The word Cinnabar is derived from the Eastern Indian word for "dragon's blood". Originally, Cinnabar was a pigment mined from Iron ore quarries in Europe and Africa, but it was found to contain highly toxic levels of Mercury, so consequently, it is no longer used in the manufacturing of gifts and jewelry. Today, Cinnabar resin is created from the purified sap of the Lac tree, common to China's central and southern regions and is a safe, non-toxic reproduction of the pigment used in ancient times. Cinnabar is said to attract abundance and stimulate dignity, vitality and power, and is quite beneficial in the world of business and finance. It also brings one the qualities of fluency, persuasiveness, and effectiveness in ones aspirations, and furthers ones assertiveness while eliminating aggression. It is helpful in community work and in the organization structure, assisting one in remembering the "giving" qualities of the Divine. Citrine - is the golden or yellow member of the Quartz family and is the alternate birthstone for the month of November and a second (sacral/navel) chakra gemstone. Citrine is the thirteenth anniversary gemstone and also the alternate eleventh anniversary gemstone. Quartz is the official state mineral of Arkansas. Citrine is one of the two minerals on the planet which does not hold or accumulate negative energy, but dissipates and transmutes it; therefore, it never needs clearing or cleansing. It is known as the "merchant stone"; placing a crystal or cluster of Citrine in ones cash box has produced more income for the merchant. It not only assists in acquiring wealth, but also helps to maintain the state of wealth. Clear/Crystal Quartz - is the clear, or crystal member of the Quartz family. Clear Quartz, Crystal Quartz or Rock Crystal Quartz is the alternate birthstone for the month of April, as well as the official state mineral of Arkansas. It is referred to as rock crystal in the lapidary/rock hound world. Clear Quartz can be applied to any of the chakras and is said to bring the energy of the stars into the soul. Traditionally, the natural Quartz crystal was said to both harmonize and align human energies - thought, consciousness, emotions - with the energies of the universe and to make these greater energies available to humanity. The natural tendency of Quartz is for harmony, and it is recognized as a "stone of power". Quartz crystals can be used to amplify both body energy and thoughts. It can assist in the creation of power and can provide for clarity in thinking to enable thoughts to more effectively influence matter and can be used to communicate with minerals, plants, animal, and intelligent forces outside of the physical dimension. Dalmatian Jasper - is a spotted member of the Jasper family. Chakra application depends upon the stone's color. It enhances the sense of brotherhood, goodwill and benevolence. It is said to increase loyalty and to be very beneficial for long-term relationships. It helps one to see their inner strengths and weaknesses, and encourages grounding to both the Earth and in reality. It can be used for protection from nightmares, depression and negative thinking. It is particularly beneficial for people who have trouble relaxing and having fun.

Fluorite - (pronounced Floor-ite) and Rainbow Fluorite are known to bring order to chaos. Chakra application depends upon the stone's color. Fluorite is the official state gemstone and official state mineral of Illinois. It helps to impart impartiality and unbiased, detached reasoning in situations where it's beneficial to both sides to act objectively. It increases ones ability to concentrate by balancing the positive and negative relationships of the mind. It also provides a stabilizing energy, helping relationships, groups and individuals to flourish in a way that is beneficial to all. It is a perfect gift for someone who is ill, as it helps to nourish the energies of the body, and provides purification, cleansing and elimination of that which is in disorder.

Freshwater Pearl - is the product of the freshwater pearl oyster and it is the official state gemstone of both Kentucky and Tennessee. Pearl is known as the "stone of sincerity" and is the modern birthstone for the month of June. The original birthstone for the month of June was Alexandrite, but since it has become so rare and expensive, Pearl was chosen as it's replacement. Pearl is also a third and thirtieth anniversary gemstone. It brings truth to situations and loyalty to a "cause". Symbolizing faith, charity, innocence and purity, it enhances personal integrity and to help provide focus to ones attention. It is also used to inhibit boisterous behavior and provide reflection of the self such that one may see the manner in which one appears to others.

Garnet - is known as the "stone of health" and is the birthstone for the month of January, the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign of Aquarius and is a first (base/root) and fourth (heart) chakra gemstone. Garnet is also the official state gemstone of both Connecticut and New York, and is a second anniversary gemstone. Garnet is used to extract negative energy from the chakras and transmuting the energy to the beneficial state. It has been used as a sacred stone by the Native American Indians, South American Indians, Aztecs, African tribal elders and the Mayans. It enhances ones internal fire and creativity. Also known as a "stone of commitment", the loving powers of Garnet tend to reflect the attributes of devotion, bringing the love of others to expressions of warmth and understanding. Geodes - (pronounced Gee-odes) are usually spherical stones which contain a cavity lined with a crystalline structure (Amethyst, Citrine, Quartz, Calcite, etc.) growing toward the center of the stone. Snowflake Obsidian - is a form of volcanic glass with snowflake like inclusions. Known as the "stone of purity", bringing both purity and balance to the body, mind, and spirit. It is an excellent grounding stone, it is said to assist in the reflection of ones flaws and to promote a clear picture of the changes which are necessary to eliminate the flaws. It provides a shield against negativity, transforming negative vibrations within an environment. Carrying/wearing Obsidian further disperses those unloving thoughts which arise from within the self or are directed toward one physical form. Soapstone - is the common name for the mineral Steatite. It provides for both the movement and widening of ones horizons and assists in fashioning and instilling positive characteristics within the environment in which it is a member. Teakwood Marble - is a trade name for a form of metamorphosed Limestone found only in the mountains of Pakistan.
